Honorable Order of the Blue Goose

The Honorable Order of Blue Goose International is a fraternal organization of individuals who work in insurance-related industries. We are home office executives, field claims representatives, adjusters, agents, investigators, contractors, appraisers, insurance attorneys, engineers, and many other insurance-related professionals.

Our local groups are called Ponds and are organized throughout the United States and Canada. We meet regularly for education, philanthropy, and to socialize. Individual members are called Ganders, and our officers carry the titles of Most Loyal Gander, Supervisor of the Flock, Custodian of the Goslings, Guardian of the Pond, Wielder of the Goose Quill, and Keeper of the Golden Goose Egg.

Each Pond has its own unique blend of meetings and activities. There are fundraisers for charities, business meetings, dinners, golf outings, and holiday parties. Ganders expand their professional knowledge through educational seminars, speakers, and get-togethers with insurance industry leaders.

Each summer, there is an annual convention. The host city rotates among Ponds that compete for the privilege of hosting. This event is a family affair, and activities are planned for Ganders, their spouses, and children.

Why We Do What We Do

The Honorable Order of Blue Goose International holds four main tenets at its core: Fellowship, Education, Charity, and Leadership.

Fellowship: We are a community of interest, experience, activity, and feeling. We aren’t just business associates or a networking group; we are genuine friends.

Education: Many of our Ponds host speakers and continuing education programs to enrich the lives and professions of the Ganders. Annual awards are given for Membership, Gander of the Year, Charitable Works, and more.

Charity: Each Pond supports charities in a variety of ways, some choosing one or a few groups to support while others spread their donations across several charities. Ganders help those in need financially and by volunteering their time.

Leadership: When we give ourselves in the work of Blue Goose, we gain experience in new areas. Poise and confidence is gained in the administration of activities and the management of others.
